The Black Mercedes

Warsaw, June 1942. Aneta, the beautiful wife of a respected barrister, Karol Holzer, is killed in suspicious circumstances. Rafał Król, an officer of the Blue Police co-operating with the Germans, is trying to solve the case of the mysterious murder. Suspicions multiply as one clue after another uncover the well-hidden secrets of the deceased and disclose an unclear connection between her husband and a high-ranking SS officer.

The Captain (Polonica)

Last moments of the second world war. A young German soldier desperately struggles to survive. A random uniform of a Nazi captain is his big chance to make it through, so he decides to impersonate an officer. Monstrous identity of the men he tried to escape easily goes to his head.

The Coldest Game

The beginning of the sixties. With the Cuban Missile Crisis in full swing, American secret services kidnap an outstanding mathematician, Joshua Mansky. The forgotten alcohol-abusing genius is to take part in a chess duel against a Soviet master, Gawryłow, at an international tournament at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw. However, the competition only serves as a cover for a game of spies.

The Crossword

The Iron Bridge

A dramatic story about three people tangled up in a love relationship. Foreman Kacper is having a love affair with the wife of his friend, Oskar, also a miner. He sends Oskar off to the most distant and dangerous parts of the pit so that he himself could meet his lover. During one such meeting there’s a rock burst at the mine. Oskar is cut off in a collapsed drift and the lovers throw themselves right in the middle of the rescue operation.

The Legions

A blockbuster about the generation of the 1914–1916 Polish Legions which won Poland its independence. It is an epic historical spectacle made with state-of-the-art film techniques. It shows young people who do not hesitate to throw themselves right in the middle of the fight for regaining independence, but also those who have just understood that they will be able to live their dreams only in a free Poland.

The Men’s Room

Norway, 2016. A choir of twenty-five middle-aged men are supposed to open for the Black Sabbath concert. They once joked that if one of them died, they would sing together at his funeral. It turns out that Ivar, who has directed the choir for many years, is the first one to go. Despite his cancer diagnosis and worsening condition, he won’t stop preparations for the show.
