The plot focuses on the three years between the autumn of 1923 untill the reception of city rights by Gdynia in February 1926. The story about the harbor, life, friendships and love of the men who build it: locals and authentic people connected with the emerging city. The main character, Krzysztof Grabień, comes from a village in a central Poland to participate in the construction of Gdynia with his peer and best friend Wołodia Jazowiecki.
