Jakub Jakubik is a director, screenwriter, script doctor, and actor born in 1997. He graduated in screenwriting from the Łódź Film School, where he is currently a directing student in his last year. His short films Lockdown and What Wood Was the Cross Made Of? were screened at festivals in Poland and abroad. His graduation film, Lament No. 1, received the Special Award of the Jury at the 2024 PFF in Gdynia, and a treatment of his documentary The Curse was selected for DOC LAB GO! He worked as an assistant director on Pixie: The New Beginning, a co-production of the Documentary and Feature Film Studio shown at last year’s Locarno Film Festival. As an actor, he performed in the short film Warszawa, Holandia, which was awarded at the 2023 PFF in Gdynia, and the latest film by Piotr Domalewski, Our Revolution.
