Paweł Pawlikowski is a Polish film director who began his career in the United Kingdom making awarded documentary films. Later he turned to feature films and made Last Resort and My Summer of Love, winning the prestigious BAFTA award for both. His film Ida won the 2015 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, becoming the first Polish film to ever receive it. This production also received five 2014 European Film Awards. His film Cold War had its premiere as part of the Main Competition of the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and won him the Best Director award. Pawlikowski also won five 2018 European Film Awards, including for Best Film, Best Directing and Best Screenwriter.
