Talked by her friend Wiera, Natasza – an English teacher from a Russian province – comes to Poland with her daughter Masza in order to trade at the Stadium of the Decade. Soon, Wiera is murdered in unclear circumstances. Natasza and her daughter have problems with the police and can no longer work at the stadium. Wiera’s friend Janek offers Natasza a well-paid job. The teacher becomes a prostitute. When her husband comes to Poland with the younger daughter, a few days spent with the family make her want to quit. But she can’t. Natasza still ‘works’ and has no time for the daughter who spends more and more time with Robert, her ‘caretaker’. One day, Natasza opens Masza’s farewell letter.
