51st Polish Film Festival in Gdynia
§ 1
ORGANISER
- The Janusz Korczak Golden Lion Cubs competition is organised by the Pomeranian Film Foundation, based in Gdynia at 2 Plac Grunwaldzki.

§ 2
PARTNERS OF THE COMPETITION
- The Competition is organised in partnership with KGHM POLSKA MIEDŹ.
- The award is sponsored by TVP S.A.
§ 3
SUBJECT OF THE COMPETITION
- The subject of this public pledge is the awarding of a prize of PLN 10,000 (in words: ten thousand zlotys) for the best film in the Janusz Korczak Golden Lion Cubs Competition.
- The films screened at the 51st Polish Film Festival in Gdynia and entered into the competition are those invited by the Artistic Director.
- The festival does not cover the costs of copies or the rights to the films screened as part of the competition. These costs are borne by the producer.
§ 4
PROCEDURE FOR GRANTING THE AWARD
- This paragraph sets out the procedure for determining which director is entitled to the award in accordance with these rules and Article 921(1) of the Civil Code.
- The award is decided by the audience at the 51st Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, who award individual films between 1 and 5 points using voting slips. A sample voting slip is set out in Appendix 1 to these rules.
- Voting slips will be issued between 21st September 2026 and 25th September 2026, and viewers will only be able to award points during this designated period.
- Each member of the audience will receive one voting slip before the film screening.
- Voting for the Audience Award will close on 25th September 2026 at 3.00 pm.
- Points will be awarded by placing voting slips in the designated boxes.
- The correct allocation of the relevant number of points is determined by tearing the coupon at the marked point, next to the relevant number of points.
- A coupon that is not torn, is torn in an unmarked place, or is torn next to two point numbers is invalid and will not be counted.
- The total number of points scored by a particular director will be divided by the number of coupons that awarded him points. The award will be presented to the director who achieves the highest quotient in this division.
- Where a film is directed by two or more directors, each of them shall receive an equal and proportionate share of the award referred to in paragraph 3(1).
- Where two or more directors achieve an identical quotient (as referred to in paragraph 4(9)), each of them shall receive an equal and proportionate share of the award referred to in paragraph 2(1). However, with the exception that co-directors of a single work shall receive a share equal to that of a director who directed the film alone.
- The method for calculating the payments due takes into account the fact that, under no circumstances, will the total amount of prizes paid out exceed PLN 10,000 (in words: ten thousand zlotys).
- The result of the vote will be determined by a three-member committee comprising two representatives of the Pomeranian Film Foundation and one representative of Tomasz Kopoczyński’s Law Firm. The committee will draw up a report on the results of the vote.
- The result will be announced and the award presented during the Young Gala held on 25th September 2026.
- The award will be paid within 30 days of the winner(s) of the competition providing their bank account number, but no earlier than 14 days after the end of the 51st Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, i.e. 26th September 2026.
- Failure by the winner to provide the correct bank account number for the transfer of the prize by 1st December 2026 shall be deemed to constitute a waiver of the award.
§ 5
FINAL PROVISIONS
- The organiser shall bear no liability for the actions of third parties in relation to the competition.
- The minutes of the voting results will be available at the headquarters of the Pomeranian Film Foundation in Gdynia until 31st December 2026.
- In the event of any doubt regarding interpretation, the Polish version of the present rules shall prevail.
