The screenplay of the film was inspired by a play “La Ronde” (Reigen) written by Arthur Schnitzler over a hundred years ago. The action was brought to a 2004 Warsaw, with the prowess of Austro-Hungarian lovers replaced by tedious routine, hysteria and the feeling of loss. The ten scenes of the film consist of ten dialogues between the lovers where each one is connected to the next. A Painter meets with a Policeman on a bench in a park. On another bench, the man has a date with a Nymphomaniac who then has a tryst with a Sculptor. All the characters are bored with each other, their love having long entered the phase of crisis.
