1960s, Masuria. Mikołaj Biesaga gets seriously wounded in the war and swears that if he survives, he will build a chapel for the Blessed Virgin Mary. Years later, the ‘miraculously saved’ still has not kept his promise. Now, feeling that his time is coming, he decides to fulfil the obligation. The authorities, though, deny him cement allocation and the permission to build. Even a priest, unwilling to make himself unpopular, doesn’t support the pious plan. Meanwhile, a group of female prisoners – thieves, embezzlers and prostitutes – arrives at a local State Agricultural Farm to rehabilitate. One of them, Lola Katafalk meets Mikołaj on a cemetery pretending to be a guest artist invited to perform. Lonely and desperate, Mikołaj confides in her. Lola promises to help and takes a down payment. When Mikołaj finds out about her identity, the woman disappears with the money. Soon, however, she will need him… The first episode of “Polskie miłości” TV series.
