Comedy with a touch of bitterness. The town of Jaśminów. Camaldolese monastery. Within its walls, five monks serve God: prior – father Kleofas, friar Zdrówko and three friars whose names express their extraordinary feature: Śliwa, who smells like a plum, Czeremcha, who smells like a bird cherry, and Czereśnia, who smells like a wild cherry. One day, an attractive woman with a little girl arrives at the monastery commissioned by the church authorities to renovate its paintings. During the day, she works on the canvases. In the evening, closed in the attic, she’s engaged in strange practices: she opens her trunk, takes out little bottles with essential oils, graduated cylinders, pipettes and distillation flasks and starts her alchemic experiments.
