Maria is over 80 and comes from an aristocratic family impoverished after the war. She lives alone in a studio apartment, leads a modest life on her small pension and has a secret admirer whom she teaches French. A normal old lady, one would say. Nobody knows that Mrs. Maria regularly plays roulette. In her life, there is a certain mystery that involves to gambling and a diamond necklace.
