Dekalog 89 + vol. 2

20 years after the premiere of Krzysztof Kieślowski’s “The Decalogue”, ten directors of a young generation took up the challenge to create new films showing the influence of the film’s commandments on modern people. The feature film “Decalogue 89 + Vol. 2” is a second part of this project and consists of five stories linked to the first (“Thou shalt not have other gods before me”), third (“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy”), fifth (“Thou shalt not kill”), sixth (“ Thou shalt not commit adultery ” ) and eighth (“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor”) commandment. To what extent can a man influence his fate? What in our lives is a result of an accident, of other people’s decisions and what actually comes out of our choices? The short stories “The Scent Of Flowers Does Not Blow Against The Wind” (dir. Leszek Korusiewicz), “Overboard” (dir. Bartosz Paduch), “Janusz W. Case” (dir. Wojtek Jagiełło), “The Lodger” (dir. Marcin Bortkiewicz) and “The Fence” (dir. Tomek Matuszczak) offer interesting and very modern answers to these questions.
