Last years of communism in Romania. Dullness and all-pervading ugliness. However, for two girlfriends, Otilia and Găbiţă, life still has a faint flavour of adventure and hope that dreams come true. At least until Găbiţă finds out she is pregnant. The girl is scared of being a single mother, she is afraid of the reactions of her parents and the people around, she does not want to drop out of college.
