Seventeen-year old Lisa unwittingly contributes to an accident in which a woman dies. She tries to rectify her mistake, but she encounters adversities at every turn. Under the influence of intense feelings, Lisa comes into conflict with her family, friends, teachers, and, first and foremost, with herself. Unexpectedly, she has to confront one of the basic truths: youthful ideals and the reality of the adult world always meet head-on.
