A legend of the 2nd World War on the screen. September 1939. ORP Orzeł awaits commands, her crew watches helplessly the shelling of Westerplatte. The submarine is sent to neutral Tallinn and, as a result of German diplomatic pressure, she is interned by the Estonians. The situation of the crew is further worsened by their commander’s illness. Captain Grabiński (Wieńczysław Gliński) takes command of the ship and with the crew decides to escape from Tallinn. Orzeł is chased by the Kriegsmarine, the news hits the front pages of international newspapers. The route to England is long and dangerous, its focal point is a courageous escape directly under a German cargo ship.
