The Fifth Season of The Year

The journey of the two main characters across the country constitutes a perfect occasion to reconcile with the reality of modern Poland. This is a picture of Poland after 20 years of democracy which is devised to make viewers reflect on the country we used to live in 'yesterday' and on the one we are going to live in 'tomorrow'. As the characters spent their youth and adult lives in times of people's republic and now have reached the age fit for first recapitulations, their perception is particularly agile and sensitized to many subtleties.
