Janina Duszejko is a retired engineer, astrology lover and vegetarian. She once built bridges in the Middle East; now, she lives alone in the Sudety Mountains. One winter night, she finds the body of her neighbour, a poacher. The circumstances of the man’s death are unusually mysterious as the only footprints found around his house are the footprints of deer hooves. Duszejko, seeing the impotence of the police, starts her own, unconventional investigation…
