When Jan’s mother dies, he is unable to cry for her. The boy is not on good terms with the rest of the family, who show up at his mother’s apartment. Despite difficult circumstances, he must rise to the occasion and bid a respectful farewell to his mother. A minimalist, modest picture of family relations put to the test, set in chilly Eastern Europe.
