My Nikifor
Krzysztof Krauze
2004, 1 h 41 minBased on true events of the last years of the life of Nikifor (1895-1968), a painter rated among the five most outstanding primitives of the world. Nikifor, actually Epifaniusz Drowniak, for the most of his life was despised, not understood and laughed at. In Krynica, he was considered a loony, he aroused either fear or laughter. In 1960, his life story crosses with Marian Włosiński, a young artist. In the beginning, Włosiński wants to get rid of the pain in the neck but when he gets to know him better, he discovers genius hidden in him. He abandons his panting ambitions, and taking care of Nikifor becomes the sense of his life.
