Part of a TV series “Święta polskie” – a parable for Corpus Christi. The community of a village near Bialystok prepares for the celebrations of Corpus Christi. The route of the procession is frantically adorned, communion dresses ironed and cars in yards polished. The provost gives the last orders, the verger and his helpers bustle nervously and the local musician organizes loudspeakers so the provost’s words could be heard by the whole congregation. But even in such a special day, the fight between rich Kowals and much less wealthy Suszkos is on…
