Wojciech Staroń is a cinematographer and director. He received the Silver Bear at Berlin International Film Festival for the cinematography to The Prize (dir. Paula Markovitch). His directing debut, Siberian Lesson won awards at festivals in Kraków, Amsterdam and Paris. Argentinian Lesson won awards at the Kraków Film Festival, DOK Leipzig and the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography Camerimage in Bydgoszcz. His documentary Brothers won in the section Semaine de la Critique at the Locarno Film Festival. Passion According to Agnieszka received the Golden Hobby-Horse at the Kraków Film Festival. He worked with Krzysztof Krauze and Joanna Kos-Krauze as a cinematographer for movies Saviour Square and Papusza as well as with Laila Pakalnina (Dawn), Lidia Duda (Entangled and The Fledglings), Jerzy Śladkowski (Don Juan and Bitter Love), Diego Lerman (Refugiado), Makbul Mubarak (Autobiography), and Viesturs Kairišs (January and Ulya). A professor of the Łódź Film School.
