Joanna Szymańska is a film producer, founder of Shipsboy, and co-editor of The Sideletters – a business podcast dedicated to the European audiovisual market. Her credits include Dust, Operation Hyacinth awarded at the Polish Film Festival, two install- ments of the successful Polish family franchise Detective Bruno, and Red Path – an international co-production awarded at the Warsaw Film Festival and Red Sea IFF. Co-founder of “Atelier Scenariuszowe” Poland’s biggest script development program. A graduate of Berlinale Talents, EAVE, and ACE. She serves as a Chairwoman of the Producers Guild of Poland and represented Central and Eastern Europe as a former Deputy Chair of the European Film Academy Board. She is currently completing her PhD at the Łódź Film School and is a lecturer at universities in Poland and abroad.
