The Leszek Kopeć Gdynia Film Centre is one of the most important venues of the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. It is here that the Pomeranian Film Foundation in Gdynia – the festival’s organiser – and the Festival’s Office are based.
During the festival week, the GFC becomes a venue for film screenings – including those in the competition, as well as numerous screenings from the out-of-competition sections, meetings with filmmakers, and accompanying events. The building houses an arthouse cinema with three screening rooms: Warszawa – where press screenings of films from the Main Competition take place – the Goplana screening room and the Morskie Oko screening room.
The Leszek Kopeć Gdynia Film Centre is also an important venue for journalists and industry representatives. It houses a Press Office, which serves as an information point for the media. There is also a Quiet Zone, designed to provide a peaceful working environment for journalists, and a video studio used for recording interviews.
The GFC also houses a Gallery, where events accompanying the festival and Happy Hour the industry networking sessions take place.
How to get there
You can get to the Leszek Kopeć Gdynia Film Centre by:
- car – there are above-ground and underground car parks in the GFC area,
- festival bus, which runs between Grunwaldzki Square and the Riviera Centre,
- city bus – the nearest stops:
- Świętojańska Street – Infobox 01 i Wybickiego 02 (300 metres from the entrance to the building),
- Władysława IV Street – Armii Krajowej 01, 02, 03 i 04 (450 metres from the entrance).
Parking
Underground parking
Beneath Grunwaldzki Square, between the Leszek Kopeć Gdynia Film Centre and the Theatre, there is a paid underground car park with space for 150 cars. The entrance to the car park is on Wybickiego Street. Six spaces in the car park are reserved for people with disabilities.
Parking spaces around the building
On-street car parking spaces are located along the side of the building facing Wybickiego Street. These include two spaces reserved for people with disabilities.
Parking spaces are part of the City Centre Paid Parking Zone. Parking tickets must be purchased from the nearby parking meters.
