A new pupil, Karol Matulak, joins the school. He meets Balon, Zagrajek, Bącała and Pacuch – a group leading the class. The well-mannered and sensitive boy can’t adjust to the mischievous behaviour of his new friends, from time to time he makes blunders which expose him to mockery. Finally, he manages to win their favours.
