Karolina is a young Pole who embarks on a journey through Volhynia, where her family comes from. Her relatives were murdered in the Volhynian slaughter of 1943. The wounds still fester. On foot with a Ukrainian camera operator, Oleksandr, they talk to Volhynians about what happened. It’s a film about motes of goodness, memory and making peace with one’s past – a voice of the new generation in the process of Polish-Ukrainian reconciliation.
