A war bursts out, and everyone must find a way to deal with it. The marshal wants to go down in history as a great politician at all costs. His soldiers seem more pragmatic, and the civilians suffer the most. The film shows the fates of them all. This symbolic tale, loosely inspired by the style and atmosphere of The Master and Margarita, doesn’t aspire to be a war report but explores the war in general.
The film is a directing debut.
