Autokar – Polish Film Festival

In the 1990s, eight-year-old Agata leaves Poland to join her mother in Belgium. Anxious about the journey and her new life, she writes a letter to her father, who has stayed in Poland. When she loses her pencil on the bus, she must overcome her shyness and venture between the seats to find it. In the child’s imagination, regular passengers turn into fantastical half-human, half-animal creatures. For Agata, the journey becomes a magical rite of passage – an experience of growing up and emigration.
