Polish Film Institute Awards in time became an integral part of the Polish Film Festival. They reward achievements in supporting the development of Polish cinema, promoting its heritage and facilitating public access to Polish films.
The accolades recognizing the work of people and institutions supporting the popularisation of Polish cinema will be presented for the eighteenth time. For the first time the Ceremony will be named after Anna Sienkiewicz-Rogowska – the originator and special patron of the Polish Institute Awards.
This year marks a change in the process of Jury selection. Win[1]ners from the last year’s edition were invited to participate along with the representatives of awarded institutions: Stanisław Za[1]borowski, Joanna Stankiewicz, Piotr Szczyszyk, Artur Liebhart, Karolina Sienkiewicz, Joanna Piotrowiak, Marcin Stachowicz and Aleksander Walijewski. Jury, with the General Director of the Polish Film Institute Kamila Dorbach presiding, selected the winners from the applications submitted by institutions, individuals and entities associated with culture. There are ten categories: Film Event, Film Education, Cinema, Film Discussion Club, Film Criticism, Book on Film, Polish Film Distribution, Polish Film Promotion Abroad, Film Poster and Accessibility of Film Culture.
