Jazz band Omasta will perform their original arrangements of pieces composed by the most accomplished film score composers likeKrzysztof Komeda, Jerzy Matuszkiewicz, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski for WFO films.The concert will be interspersed with a selection of WFO films scenes prepared by the visual artist Laura Pawela.

OMASTA
Omasta is charting a new path, at the same time respecting what came before. Rooted in jazz, yet deeply influenced by hip-hop and urban culture, they represent a bold fusion of tradition and innovation. The name comes from a regional Kraków vernacular, meaning “grease added to a dish for flavour”. It’s a well-fitting metaphor – their music is dense, saturated with heavy drumming and deep basses, building up to harmonious piano, trumpet, saxophone and flute parts. The band formed in Kraków within a few years, making its debut in February 2024 with a concert accompanied by J Dilla tunes at the iconic Paul’s Boutique. Since then they steadily gained popularity, appearing on many amous stages in Poland and Europe, e.g. Off Festival, The Jazz Cafe and Ronnie Scott’s in London, AB in Brussels or Gent Jazz Festival. They played with artists such as Slum Village, Aquiles Navarro (Irreversible Entanglements), Tenderlonious and Polish free jazz legend Leszek Żądło. They also performed concerts celebrating Madlib. All that before their first single. Omasta’s first album was released in October 2025 under Astig[1]matic Records label.
