It is June 1999. Bogdan needs to buy alcohol for his wife’s fiftieth birthday, but the timing couldn’t be worse: the Pope’s visit brings about a city-wide prohibition. A simple shopping jaunt quickly turns into a metaphysical odyssey filled with absurd events, curious meetings, and bizarre obstacles. With every step he takes, it is less and less clear whether Bogdan is still searching for vodka or something much more profound.
