Directing debut of Janusz Morgenstern co-written with Zbigniew Cybulski and Bogumił Kobiela – the founders and artists of Gdansk student stand-up Bim-Bom. The background events and the character of Marguerite are authentic. Her real name was Francoise Bourbon. She was a daughter of the French consul who resided in Poland over the period 1956-60. In the film, a student named Jacek falls in love with Marguerite. The scenes were shot in the real student’s cellars in Gdansk.
